Thank goodness 2012 is over. It had its high points (hello, Miss Kaitlyn), but overall, I think the year was not so bueno. We lost our grandmother, faced financially trying times, and some of us have had the joys of idiotic neighbors just above our heads. 2012 can gladly get flushed, I say. This year, barring any insane disasters, has to be better.
I am not one to make new year's resolutions, as my beliefs lean toward change can happen past the first week of January. Plus, I'm pretty sure, I'm horrible at sticking to goals. That said, I think it's a far better use of time to come up with attainable goals that will make me happy. Which lead to making a better overall person. So, for my 2013, I hope to watch more movies. In theaters. Read more books (fiction, not just cookbooks), and get involved with a cause like homeless pets or foster children, or both (the time I've spent perusing adoptuskids.com and petfinder.com could possibly have been better spent doing for them, not solely pining for them.) I've actually had a similar list for a while now, since our grandfather passed. Something about losing loved ones makes me regret that I haven't done enough to make them proud. Can't deny, I have issues ;)
So, this year we can look forward to our favorite little turkey (er, tater. Not that we play favorites!) turning one, our other favorite tater starting first grade, a first anniversary, and we can all hope, the first time aunt Kiki wins a million (or more) dollars. Power Wheels jeeps don't just buy themselves, people! Happy 2013!
